Macaroni

Ingredients

  • Butter: 25g
  • Plain Flour: 2 tbsp
  • Milk: 1/2 pint (or more)
  • Medium Cheddar Cheese
  • Macaroni Pasta: 275g

Method

  1. Grate the cheese.
  2. Melt the butter then stir in the flour a tablespoon at a time until you have a paste.
  3. Cook the flour paste for a few minutes, stirring constantly.
  4. Add milk a dribble at a time until it's fairly runny again.
  5. Add in the grated cheese and bring up to the simmer then turn the heat right down.
  6. In a second pan, boil slightly salted water then add and cook the macaroni.
  7. Check texture then drain thoroughly and add to the sauce and mix. Serve.

Notes

  • We largely vibe the ingredients for this recipe.
  • 2025-05-02: Try grating some parmesan more often
  • 2025-08-19: 275g pasta is just right for le cruset
